ABOUT CCLDHE

The California Conference of Local Directors of Health Education (CCLDHE) is a professional affiliate organization of the California Conference of Local Health Officers. Its purpose is to provide a centralized venue for all health educators to bring forth career related issues, concerns and needs. It serves as a professional clearinghouse for public health education.

The membership of CCLDHE includes Directors of Health Education in local official health agencies who provide overall administrative direction, planning, and implementation and supervision of public and community health education programs.

Legal authority for health education positions within local public health agencies is established in California Code of Regulations Title 17, Chapter 3, Article 3, Sections 1303 (Health Educator) and Section 1304 (Directors of Health Education).

The affiliate was organized in 1963, when the California Conference of Local Health Officers (CCLHO) passed a resolution of various local health departments into statewide affiliate groups
