2015 CCLDHE Annual Meeting

Healthy Stores for a Healthy Community

CCLDHE’s 2015 Annual Meeting was held in Sacramento this year on October 23rd.  The focus of this year’s conference was the state’s “Healthy Store for a Healthy Community” campaign.  The Healthy Stores for a Healthy Community campaign is a statewide assessment of corner/small grocery stores to determine availability of unhealthy products such as alcohol and tobacco.  The assessment is also used to determine access to healthy products such as fresh fruits and vegetables as well as condoms.  Speakers included California public health leadership such as Dr. Tamu Nolfo from the Office of Health Equity, Jeffery Rosenhall from the Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch (NEOPB), Denise Galvez from the California Department of Health Care Services, Tonia Hagaman from the California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP), and Dan Wohlfeiler from the STD Control Branch.
